The KC directory is public-interest infrastructure. The data is intentionally exportable so mutual aid groups, clinics, libraries, newsrooms, researchers, and local builders can use it without asking permission first.
Exports
Reuse rule
Free to mirror, redistribute, repost, quote, transform, and build on. Attribution is welcome but not required. Do not imply that CivicBrands has endorsed a separate product or service unless we have said so directly.
If you mirror the data, keep a visible correction path. A stale copy can still hurt someone.
What the fields mean
- confidence: verified, community-confirmed, legacy, unverified, or seasonal.
- fearAddressed: practical access concerns, such as cost, paperwork, immigration reporting, sobriety, or pets.
- statusNeutral: the entry is understood not to require immigration status documentation.
- lastKnownGood: a human-readable note about the last confidence signal.
- emergency: a crisis or urgent-contact entry. Call ahead when possible unless immediate danger makes that impossible.
Update cadence
The exports are generated from the site content when the site builds. Directory entries are updated by hand after review. Urgent corrections go first.
Corrections
If a number fails, a service turns people away, a requirement changed, or a mirrored copy is wrong, send it through Suggest / correct. Anonymous reports are welcome.
